
Aug 22nd, 1974 — Blair Chapman of Okanagan Falls prepares his entry for the PNE’s 4H auction while seemingly ignoring the fate of a fellow 4H’er behind him. Pictures like this were a staple of the Province newspaper’s coverage of the Pacific National Exhibition during the 1970’s. In fact pictures like this were common in newspapers everywhere before the taboo of setting up pictures took over. Not that this was set up, at least not by me, it was just a bunch of kids trying to scare the daylights out of city folks touring the animal barns during the annual fall fair and according to the caption that ran with the picture in the newspaper, it often did.
