Annie Edwards

Kids
August 29th, 1969 — Eight year old Annie Edwards arrived in Edmonton, Alberta at the CN Rail station along with 132 other children to live with temporary foster parents while she attended school in the city. Annie was from Masset on the Queen Charlotte Islands and this was her first long trip away from home. The caption with the picture said, “The Mormon Church has found homes for the Indian children seeking a better education in Alberta’s urban schools.” About ten years ago I tried to find Annie but wasn’t successful. I wanted to know how her life turned out, if going to school in Edmonton helped.
