September 12th, 1976 — Dave Lehmann of Tacoma Washington leads 26 reed light karts into turn one of the sprint track at Westwood Racing Circuit. David won the race and led every lap of the three heats. Sheldon Orr (14) of Vancouver set a new qualifying record and finished third in the race. Waving the green flag at the start finish line is Luckie Kuosmanen.
