July 12th, 1970 — This man photographing kids smoking pot at a free outdoor rock festival on the grounds of the legislature in Edmonton was very obviously an undercover Edmonton City policeman. Maybe not to him or his cohorts or his superiors but he was too me and probably all the other spectators that day and there were thousands. Everyone in the newsroom had a laugh at his expense although it’s possible the picture never made the paper.
